Mad Kitchen

Fifteen years of making advertising for large business. The technology has changed since. People haven’t.

We are a full-cycle creative agency and video production company based in Moscow. We come up with the idea, write the script, shoot it, animate it, design it and build it — under one roof and under one contract, so you don’t have to assemble a chain of contractors and make them talk to each other.

The rest of this site is in Russian: our work, AI video and the blog. If something there needs explaining, write to us in English — the form at the bottom of this page reaches the same people.

What we do

Video production

Commercials and image films, product and explainer videos, corporate and documentary films, documentary series. Full cycle: idea, script, pre-production, shooting, edit, colour, graphics and sound.

Lead time: from two weeks. In Russian

AI video

Two formats: a hybrid, where neural networks cover what is expensive to shoot, and full AI production without a crew at all. The process stays the one we use on set — brief, script, casting, locations, storyboard — and everything is approved before a single frame is generated.

Lead time: from two weeks. In Russian

Creative

The idea everything else is built around: campaign concepts, branding and rebranding, naming and taglines, scripts and copy. Usually delivered as several options to choose from.

Lead time: from seven days. In Russian

Graphics and animation

2D and 3D, motion design, infographics, AR and VR. We also take on animation over footage you have already shot.

Lead time: from three days. In Russian

Design

Identity and logo, brand books, packaging, print and promotional materials, presentations, 3D visualisation. Source files are handed over, rights are transferred.

Lead time: from seven days. In Russian

Digital

Corporate sites, landing pages and promo sites, catalogues, applications, interactive museum installations and presentations. Support after launch included when you need it.

Lead time: from seven days. In Russian

Selected clients

OMK (United Metallurgical Company), Skoltech, Glavstroy, Wienerberger, Ingosstrakh, NSPK (National Payment Card System), Svyaznoy, VEB Racing, Baikal.Center, the Internet Development Institute, the City of Moscow, the Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad.

Work for them includes brand and product commercials, a corporate film for a metallurgical plant, science explainers for Skoltech, a documentary series shot across Russia, social advertising for Moscow, museum sites and interactive installations. All of it is in the portfolio — the case pages are in Russian, but the videos speak for themselves.

How a project runs

Before the shoot

Brief, idea, script, storyboard, casting, locations, props and costumes. This is where a project is actually made or lost: everything left unresolved here resurfaces on set, where an hour costs many times more.

After the shoot

Edit, colour, graphics and titles, sound, music and voice-over, final formats for your platforms. The number of revision rounds is written into the contract rather than left to good will.

Questions we get before signing

What does Mad Kitchen do?

We are a creative agency and a video production company at the same time: we invent the idea and then produce it. Commercials, corporate and documentary films, AI-generated video, animation, branding and design, sites and applications.

How much does a video cost?

Video projects start from RUB 500,000. Creative, design and digital projects start from RUB 100,000, animation from RUB 50,000. The final figure is built around the script: shooting days, locations, cast, equipment, graphics and sound.

How long does production take?

A simple commercial takes from two weeks: one location, a minimal cast, no heavy graphics. A full production with casting, location scouting and graphics takes from six weeks. Full AI production of a 30 to 60 second film takes from two weeks, approvals included.

Do we need a finished script?

No. We can start from a brief and write everything ourselves, or take your script and develop it into a shooting one.

Who owns the finished video?

All rights to the finished video are transferred to the client under the contract. For AI-generated material the contract also covers a licence for the generated assets and states plainly that they were produced by models based in other countries; since the legal status of such material in Russia is still unsettled, the terms are agreed case by case.

What do you need to quote a project?

A brief: the task, the audience, where the video will live, the deadline and a budget range. Knowing the range is not about adjusting the price — it lets us propose something that fits instead of a script that has to be cut later.
